How to guide: Using Bondage Gear

Firstly, it’s important to stress that any form of using bondage gear should be consensual, safe and sane! You also need to trust your spouse enough that if you venture into it, you are able to communicate when you’ve had your fill or reached your limit.

Before you begin, you should agree upon a safe word (a word that lets you or your spouse know to stop or ease-up). You can also talk about what you want to take place ahead of time as this will help in setting some boundaries…
So with that said, let’s get on to our topic of using bondage gear…

What is bondage gear?

Bondage gear ranges from hand or ankle cuffs, strapping, chains and suspension gear… basically anything that restrains you for sexual gratification. They are also made from a host of materials like cloth, leather, metal and wood.

NB: All bondage gear should be used responsibly and with extreme caution.

Step 1: Choosing your gear

When you choose bondage gear, it should always be chosen with your own personal capabilities in mind. For example, if you suffer from a hip or shoulder impingement, you cannot hope to be spread and tied to the four posts of your bed without experiencing extreme joint pain. Everyone is different, and you will know your own body’s capabilities. Don’t put pressure on yourself… stick to something that is simple and begin with that.

When you are ready, more experienced and capable, you can choose to progress onto something requiring a bit more skill. Also, choose materials that naturally turn you on. We are tactile creatures, the feel of certain materials across your flesh may be a huge turn on… soft satin… hard leather… cold metal… choose something that will work for you.

Step 2: Safety precautions

Most importantly, be safe. Don’t use bondage gear that, as a couple, you are not capable of using. You and your husband need to set boundaries and have good communication. Also, remember to establish a safe word and make sure that you both adhere to it’s use.

Step 3: Have fun with your husband

Whether you are being tied down or tying your husband up, have fun. It should always be a playful and enjoyable encounter.
If you are tied down, you become vulnerable and essentially place an enormous amount of trust in your spouse. You can throw consciousness to the wind and allow your body to resist against all the attention it receives while playing against your restraints.
If you are doing the tying up, you are accepting all the responsibility of pleasuring your spouse. You have unrestricted access to their body which is laid out for you to feast on.
